On November 25, Wipro, a key player in the information technology sector, named Omkar Nisal as its new CEO for Europe, replacing Pierre Bruno.

“Pierre Bruno shall cease to be Chief Executive Officer for Europe Strategic Market Unit and as Senior Management Personnel with effect from close of business hours of November 25, 2024,” according to a filing with the exchange.

Following Srinivas Pallia’s takeover from Thierry Delaporte on April 6, Bruno is the fourth significant departure from the Wipro stable.

Anis Chenchah, president of Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA), and Chief Operating Officer Amit Choudhary left in May, while Chief Technology Officer Subha Tatavarti resigned on August 12.

Choudhary, Chenchah, and Delaporte have all worked in the France-headquartered apgemini. Moreover, Bruno, Tatavarti, Choudhary, and Chenchah were all appointed during Delaporte’s tenure at the helm of Wipro.

Omkar will remain located in London and report to CEO and MD Srini Pallia. He will also join the Wipro Executive Board.

Since joining Wipro in 2012, Omkar has effectively managed the Banking-EMEA division of the Bengaluru-based company, collaborating closely with major and small financial institutions in the UKI, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

“This included enabling them through their digital transformation with a significant focus on customer journey redesign, enterprise engineering, ways of working, and AI-led automation,” the business stated in a press release.

In his most recent role, he oversaw a regional accounting book worth over $1 billion while serving as the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the UK and Ireland.
