The Department of Public Enterprises has revealed that the Ministry of Finance has conferred ‘Maharatna’ status upon HAL. This designation elevates HAL to the status of the 14th company in India to be included in this prestigious category. The proposal has already secured the endorsement of the inter-ministerial committee.
